What does a Support Worker do?

A Support Worker assists individuals with daily tasks, personal care, mobility, and community access. Their role is to help you live as independently as possible while supporting your physical, emotional, and social needs. They can also accompany you to appointments, assist with shopping, or provide companionship at home.

Who can access Support Worker services?

Anyone with a disability or health condition that impacts their daily living can access support worker services, especially if funded through the NDIS. Services are tailored to your individual needs and goals and can be short-term or ongoing depending on your plan and preferences.

What kind of tasks can a Support Worker help with?

Support Workers can assist with:

  • Personal hygiene (bathing, dressing, grooming)

  • Meal preparation and feeding

  • Household tasks (cleaning, laundry)

  • Medication prompts

  • Transport and mobility support

  • Social outings and appointments

  • Skill development and routine management

How do I know if a Support Worker is right for me?

If you need help managing daily routines, getting out into the community, or completing personal care tasks, a Support Worker may be a great fit. Our team will work with you to understand your goals and preferences and match you with someone experienced, respectful, and supportive.

How do I get started with Support Worker services?

If Support Work is included in your NDIS plan, you can contact us directly to begin. We’ll help match you with a suitable worker and create a support schedule that fits your lifestyle. If it’s not in your plan, speak to your Support Coordinator or LAC to explore your options.
